Founded in 1982, 1-800 Flowers gained national popularity when AT&T created an ad campaign for them that aired during the 1992 Summer Olympics. Despite that year’s turmoil with the Persian Gulf War and many companies pulling their commercials on CNN due to their contribution in the coverage of the war, 1-800 Flowers stuck it out and came out on top.
