- Landstuhl Hospitall Care Project began after Karen Grimord visited her daughter and son-in-law stationed at Ramstein Air Force Base and noticed how few movies were in the hospital collection available for recovering military personnel to watch. Her efforts resulted in a shipment of DVD and VHS to the hospital, after which she wanted to know what else the service members there needed. She was informed that many of them did not have enough money to buy the civilian clothes and other items they would need during their hospital stay. To facilitate getting these supplies to where they needed to go, Grimord founded LHCP, which continues to provide much needed supplies to convalescing troops around the world.
