More on Rosetta Stone
- Rosetta Stone was founded in 1992 by Allen Stoltzfus. Stoltzfus struggled to learn Russian and spent the 1980s searching for a new way to learn language through natural immersion using the latest technology. With the help of family members and the introduction of the CD-Rom, they developed a language learning method that included pictures and sounds in context, but offered no translation, becoming an innovative program that could be used for language learners of all ages.
- Rosetta Stone was originally named Fairfield Language Technologies, but in 2006, they officially renamed the global company after the signature product.
- Rosetta Stone offers products that help professionals learn new languages in the global business marketplace and has been used by more than 9,000 enterprise professionals.
- Rosetta Stone has online and offline learning access available on PCs, Macs, tablets, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Rosetta Stone is working with Indigenous groups around the world to preserve native languages, including the Chicksaw Nation, Kahnawake Mohawk Territory, Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana, Iñupiat Tribe, Navajo Nation, and Nunatsiavut communities.
