The Home Depot Military Discount

The Home Depot is a DIY warehouse home improvement chain with more than 2,200 locations in the United States, Canada and Mexico that offers a variety of products and services, including:

  • Aerators
  • Air compressors & nail guns
  • Air conditioners & heaters
  • Carpet & floor installations
  • Carpet blowers/cleaners
  • Power tools
  • Drywall tools
  • Hammer drills
  • Floor strippers
  • Ladders and scaffolding
  • Lawnmowers and leaf blowers
  • Truck rentals
  • And more

Military personnel can receive an ongoing 10% discount on their purchase with a valid military ID, up to $400 annually. Military members also have other opportunities to receive bigger discounts during military holiday promotions such as Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Also, The Home Depot routinely offers sales and discounts on a variety of other products and services. You’ll need to check their website for a rundown of deals currently being offered.

To use online, log in to your account on HomeDepot.com, and the ilitary discount will be automatically applied to eligible items during checkout.

To use in store, scan your Virtual ID at checkout and the discount will be applied to eligible items.

The Home Depot also actively supports veterans’ community causes. Since 2011, the Home Depot Foundation has invested more than $475 million in veteran causes and improved over 55,000 veteran homes and facilities. In 2018, the Foundation pledged an additional $250 million, taking the total commitment to half a billion by 2025.

Who Qualifies for the Discount?

Active members and veterans of the following branches of the United States military:

  • Army
  • Navy
  • Air Force
  • Marine Corps
  • Coast Guard
  • Space Force
  • National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
  • US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps (USPHS)
  • National Guard
  • Spouses of eligible service members who are currently enrolled for The Home Depot Military Discount are eligible to complete military verification through SheerID (includes Gold Star spouses).

Dependents of registered service members, dishonorably discharged veterans, and non-military members are not eligible to receive the Military Discount.

Does The Home Depot Ship to APO/FPO addresses?

Home Depot cannot ship to APO/FPO, P.O. Boxes, or U.S. Territories.

How does The Home Depot verify military or veteran status?

Show the cashier your valid military ID at checkout to receive the 10% discount.

To rent equipment, customers must show a form of ID (driver’s license, state ID, passport, military ID or Mexican CID), and be at least 18 years old.

How often can I use the Home Depot military discount?

There are no frequency limitations on using the discount.

Is this discount a limited-time offer?

The military discount is an ongoing promotion but limited to an annual discount of $400.
